Pinehurst Primary Bathroom: From 1980s to Spa-Like Retreat

This primary bathroom in a 1983 Pinehurst home was trapped in its original era — teal walls, a black bathtub, dated tile, and a cramped shower enclosure. As part of a whole-home renovation, we gutted the space and completely reimagined the layout. The new design features a grand walk-in shower with dual shower heads designed for his-and-her use, a statement chandelier over the vanity area, reeded cabinetry with brass hardware, and a private water closet. The existing vaulted ceiling was preserved to maintain the open, airy feel while every surface was refinished with modern materials. The result is a spa-like retreat that transforms the daily routine into something worth looking forward to.
